PEER VISITOR PROGRAM

No One Walks This Road Alone

Across Canada, Champstrong connects people facing limb loss with trained amputee volunteers who have lived it, recovered, and thrived.

LIVED UNDERSTANDING

Meet Someone Who Has Been There

Few moments after an amputation are more powerful than meeting a person with limb loss who has recovered and built a full, productive, enjoyable life. That meeting changes what feels possible.

When you're matched with a Champstrong Peer Visitor, you gain more than information. You gain lived understanding, real community, and the encouragement to live beyond amputation. This is support from someone who speaks your language because they have walked your road.

WHO YOU'LL MEET

Trained Volunteers, Real Connection

Certified Peer Visitors are trained amputee volunteers who provide information and support to individuals facing or living with limb loss or limb difference. They listen, share what they've learned, and remind you that recovery is real.

Visits happen wherever you are most comfortable, whether in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, at home, or by phone or video. You can request a visit for yourself, or on behalf of someone with their consent, as a parent, spouse, or caregiver.

HOW IT WORKS

Three Steps to a Peer Visit

1

Request a Visit

Fill out a short request form for yourself or for someone you care for, with their consent. Tell us a little about the situation so we understand how best to help.

2

Get Matched

We match you with a certified Peer Visitor based on your request form, pairing you with a volunteer whose experience speaks to yours.

3

Connect & Be Supported

Meet in a hospital, rehab facility, at home, or by phone or video. Share, ask questions, and find encouragement to live beyond amputation.

READY WHEN YOU ARE
